Since everyone but the essential workers are on lock down due to the Coronavirus and looking for something to do, here are some family friendly activities you can do at home that are great for the upcoming holiday, Easter.
Most of the supplies needed are items you should already have a home from plastic Easter eggs to food to paper. If not, you can choose something else fun to avoid having to run out!
Just because we have to stay at home doesn't mean we can't have fun! Check out these 12 Easter activities you can do from home... for the most part.
1. Learn about the True Meaning of Easter
Jesus died for our sins. Jesus rose three days later. Jesus is Alive!
Several churches are offering online sermons you can watch in your PJ's Easter Sunday and every Sunday for the time being.
2. Go on an Egg Hunt
Hide Easter eggs inside or outside and let the kids find them. Keep the eggs empty to save time, just incase they all aren't found, and to symbolize the true meaning of Easter - The empty tomb, Jesus has risen!
3. Egg a friends yard
Drive to a friends house and throw some plastic eggs in their yard, maybe leave something sweet by their front door with a sign saying "You've Been Egged!".
Don't live close to your friend? Send them an Easter card to brighten their day or better yet have something sweet delivered to their house since most places are delivering food now!
4. Easter Egg Decorating Contest
Dye and decorate some Easter eggs. Post the decorated Easter eggs to social media and have your friends vote (react) for their favorite egg. If you don't have egg dye, there are several other ways you can dye or decorate eggs using shaving cream, jello, sharpies, paint, etc... just Google it!
If you don't have any eggs, make some our of paper or cardboard and decorate them.
5. Easy Outside Easter Decorations
Decorate your house for Easter. I know no one will be visiting but you can still decorate your house or at least the outside of your house for Easter so your family can enjoy it! Some easy ways to decorate outside the house are:
- Hang Plastic eggs in a tree using yarn/string.
- Decorate your windows with Expo Marker. You can draw eggs, make cool mosaic art, Easter sayings, a cross, flowers, etc. I also read somewhere that acrylic paint with some dish soap mixed in it works? but don't hold me to it if it doesn't come off.
- Chalk Art on the Sidewalk - mosaic chalk art, sayings, eggs, flowers, cross, etc...
- Stick Easter themed stuffed animals in your window seal - stuffed duck, rabbit, flower
- Decorate Empty Milk Jugs like Easter eggs or Rabbits, fill with water and set out.
