I planned ahead and took the pictures over a period of time so I didn't have to try to get it all done in one day, clean off the chalk and avoid the heat as much as possible.
I originally took three photos and then sat there thinking "Now what? Do I frame them? Do I just print them out? Do I add a snack or gift to go with the theme? I didn't think this through..."
I remembered I had a coupon for a free Shutterfly book so I then decided to make a book full of pictures called We love Daddy. I brainstormed a few more sayings and themes I could make so that each page would have chalk picture on them with a collage of related pictures on the across page. I took the pictures, made the book and had it wrapped and sitting next to some muffins I made for breakfast.

We had a fun filled Father's Day 2018. We went to church with special guest, Football Coach Bobby Bowden, followed by a grill out, The Incredibles 2 and Orange Leaf. My husband told me he thinks this is the best book I've made yet!
Check out the Chalk Art themed pictures my kids and I made for the awesome man that made me a mom and the kids call "Daddy":
Although I had some trouble getting a few of the pictures because it was to hot or to sunny out, I think they turned out pretty awesome. The last day I had to bribe the kids with lolli-pops, you can see them in the last two pictures, then we had fun playing with the hose and trying to spray away the chalk with squirt bottles. It made for a nice children's activity.
These chalk art pictures are cute and easy to do for the most part. It all depends on how cooperative your kids are. You can make them using any saying or theme you want. I made them specifically for Father's Day but they can also work for Mother's Day or any other holiday. Just change the saying to match the holiday.
To take the chalk art pictures, basically come up with a saying or theme, dress your kids up if you want to or give them a prop to hold. Leave a spot open for the kids to lay in. Carefully stand on a chair and angle the camera downward. Take a picture and print it out or use it for some other sort of gift like a book and you are done.
These are nine different sayings/theme pictures I took. I had a few more themes in mind but I think I'm going to save them for the future. Let me know in the comments below what you think or what saying you used for your picture!
