This is part 3 of a series of blogs I am writing on LulaRoe and the products they make. This blog is going to focus on LulaRoe tops and a few different ways to style them. No I am not a LulaRoe consultant or a LulaRoe expert and I did not partner with any LulaRoe consultant for these blogs. I just have several of their items and am going to share my opinion about the items I have in hopes of helping you decide whether or not to try that item and if so, what size you may need.

Before we get started I want to say that these picture were taken 3.5 months postpartum with my third baby in three years and I am hoping to lose some of my baby weight but in hopes of helping you figure out what size you need, I am 5'7, roughly 150 pounds and currently wear a size 9 in jeans (Juniors section), 8/10 in most dresses. On average I wear a Large from the Juniors section and a Small or Medium in the Women's section depending on how it's made.

LulaRoe has several different style tops. The women's tops range from size XXS (00-0) to 3XL (24-26). The men's tops range from M to 3XL and the kid's tops range from size 2/4 to 14/16. Each top varies in size and price.

  • Irma - $35
  • Perfect Tee - $36
  • Classic Tee - $35
  • Randy (Baseball Tee)- $35
  • Patrick (Men's short sleeve) -$40
  • Mark (Men's long sleeve) - $42
  • Gracie (Kids version of Irma) - $28
  • Sloan (Kids version of Randy) - $28

New Releases July 2017
  • Gigi - $35
  • Lynnae (Long Sleeves) - $38

New Releases 2018
  • Amy (button down)
  • Christy T (v-neck)

The Patrick and Mark are advertised as men's tops but can be worn by women as dresses or tunic tops. I personally do not own the men's or kid's tops so I will not be touching on them in this blog. If you want to know more about the Patrick, Mark, Gracie or Sloan Tee I would google styling tips as LulaRoe's website just shows you what they look like.

Below is a picture to compare the lengths and widths of an XS Irma, XS Perfect T and a Small Classic T. I tried to add Randy but the sleeves basically covered the rest and the shirt itself was covered as Randy is a straight, fitted top.

LulaRoe currently has four women's tops. The four tops vary from tunic tops to baseball tees and every top has a different size chart. Some of the tops run true to size and others run big. They also all come in different materials, colors and patterns giving you a wide variety to shop from.

LulaRoe's tops are designed to fit several different body styles so you can wear more than one size depending on what look you want. I usually wear an XS Irma, XS/Small Perfect, Small/Medium Classic T and a Medium Randy. I have considered getting a Large Randy for length to pair with leggings.

Below is a picture of the four tops side by side to give you a better understanding of the different lengths and styles. As you can tell the Irma is the longest and biggest LulaRoe top and the Randy is the shortest and smallest LulaRoe Top.

Irma

The Irma is LulaRoe's most popular and most versatile top. The Irma is a tunic top making it a great top to pair with leggings. The sizes range from XXS (00-0) to 3XL(26+).  Irma's run big so size down one or two sizes. I wear an XS(2-6) Irma. The Irma retails for $35 plus state taxes and shipping. Visit LulaRoe's website, lularoe.com/irma, to see what they say about Irma! If you are petite, you may be able to fit into a kid's Gracie size 14(14-16). Gracie looks like Irma but is cheaper since it's a kid's top.

I currently have five different Irma's and they all fit me completely different. As you can see in the picture below they are all different lengths and pull in different areas. All of the Irma's I have seem to be made out out of the same material as the all feel the same but I haven't checked the tags. I've been told that some Irma's are made in legging or silky material. I also heard the silky Irma's run small, especially in the arms so make sure to ask your consultant what material it is and if it's true to size before you purchase one.

Keep in mind that Irma'a run big so you will need to size down. I am 5'7 and an XS Irma is long on me. According to the size chart I would need a Small(8-10) Irma but I can comfortably wear an XS Irma. To be honest an XS is bigger on me than I would like but I can't wear an XXS because the arms are too tight on me. Irma's pair great with leggings because it covers your booty. I like the Irma top because it is so versatile.  You can wear/style the Irma so many more ways but below are twelve different ways to wear your Irma. I wore it the other day tucked into my jeans and it was super cute! (pictured below).

You can wear your Irma as is, knotted on the side, as a shrug, as a tube top and belted, one shoulder top, tube top tied in the front or back, or a halter top (sleeves ties around neck). You can even wear it as a skirt or dress. I would recommend going up a size if you want to wear Irma as a halter top because it was hard to tie the sleeves; or dress as it is a little short in the front.

Here is a close up of Irma as a tube top. If you size up, it would make a super cute summer dress. This is an XS, I would probably need a Small to wear it as a dress but I am also 5'7 so it may fit you perfectly.

To turn Irma into a tube top, place the neckline around your chest then you can tuck the sleeves in and belt it or you can tie the sleeves in the front or in the back to give it a different look. Lose the leggings and you have a cute summer dress.

Here is a close up of Irma as a skirt. Pretty much you do the same thing you would do for a tube top but put the neckline around your waist instead of your chest.  If you tuck in the sleeves and tie a knot, you will have pockets in your skirt.

As you can tell the Irma is super versitale and I'm sure there are tons of other ways to wear/style your Irma that I did not include. You can belt it or knot it to create a different look. I think my favorite ways to wear Irma is one shoulder, a shrug, loosely tucked into jeans, normal or paired with Cassie.

Perfect T

The Perfect T sizes range from XXS(00-6) to 3XL(24-26). The Perfect T retails for $36 plus state taxes and shipping. Visit LulaRoe's website, lularoe.com/perfect, to see what they say about the Perfect T!

The Perfect T seems to be true to size as far as the numbered sizes go. On average I wear an 8/10 or a S/M top in woman's sizes and I can wear an XS(4-10) Perfect T. I haven't tried any other size Perfect T's because I am happy with how the XS fits me but keep in mind that LulaRoe styles are made to fit more than one body size so you can most likely fit in more than one size Perfect T depending on how you want it to look.

UPDATE: I have a Medium (12-18) Perfect T and it fits me perfect. I really did not notice much of a difference between the XS and Medium Perfect T. Maybe my medium perfect was made smaller so that's why it fits me. I will post a picture as soon as I get one!

Pictured below is an XS Perfect T made out of leggings material paired with LulaRoe OS leggings. I am wearing the Perfect T knotted, as is and showing off the slit in the side.

The Perfect T is my favorite of the four tops. The Perfect T has slits up the sides to create a nice flowing bottom making it a great top to pair with leggings. The flowingness of the top is very flattering and makes for a great top as well as a great postpartum top. The slits also allow for an easy style change by tying the two sides of the slit together thus creating knots on both sides. This look draws more attention to your hips. You can also wear it knotted to one side or wear it as a tube top. To turn the Perfect T into a tube top, pull the neckline to your chest, tuck the sleeves in and add a belt. You can also tie the Perfect T in the back to make it look more fitted, roll the sleeves up, add a belt, etc... to give off a different look. I've even considered sizing up two sizes to see what it looks like as a dress (the XS is to short in the front to wear as a dress on me but I'm also 5'7). The Perfect T is a very versatile top,  you can pretty much wear the Perfect T most of the same ways as the Irma (pictured above).

I have three different Perfect T's and they are all a different material. One feels like a regular cotton/polyester blend, one has a ribbed pattern on it, and one feels like leggings material. I haven't noticed much of a difference in fit between the different materials although the legging material Perfect T tends to cling to my body more.

My favorite ways to wear the Perfect T are as is with leggings, as is over an Azure skirt, or knotted on both sides over a Cassie, jeans or leggings.

Classic T

The Classic T resembles a light t-shirt with a slightly longer back. The Classic T sizes range from XXS(00-0) to 3XL(24-26). The Classic T retails for $35 plus state taxes and shipping. Visit LulaRoe's website, lularoe.com/classic, to see what they say about the Classic T!

The Classic T is true to size. I currently wear a size 8-10 so I fall in-between a small and medium. I can wear both a Small(6-8) and Medium(10-12) Classic T. The small Classic T goes great with jeans and shorts but doesn't cover as much of my booty as I'd like when I wear leggings. The medium Classic T is longer in both the front and back and pairs perfect with leggings. I am starting to like the fit of the medium Classic T better than the small.

I personally think LulaRoe should of named the Classic T the Perfect T because it is seriously the perfect t-shirt fit. It is light, comfortable and loose in all the right places. The Classic T can be dressed up or dressed down. It comes in all different colors, patterns and materials. If you look closely at the second picture below, the dark grey at the top of the light grey Classic T is legging material and the rest is polyester so LulaRoe also mixes the material. Out of all my Classic T's, I have four different materials. I have a heathered red Classic T that is thinner than the ones pictured. My latest Classic T is a dark grey, super thin, partially see though material and it is shorter than all my other Classic T's I have.

All four of the Classic T's pictured in the material picture are a size small. All of the Classic T's fit the same except the dark grey one made in Mexico. I'm not sure if it's smaller because of wear it's made or the material used but I would make sure to ask what material your Classic T is before you purchase it so you don't end up with one thats to small. If you are sizing up then it shouldn't matter.

LulaRoe Classic T, LulaRoe, Classic T, LulaRoe Classic T material, difference in LulaRoe top material, LulaRoe different materials, LulaRoe material review
Since the Classsic T's I have vary the most material wise, I decided to share what the tops are made from:

  • Red Heathered Classic T - 50% Polyester, 38% Cotton, 12 % Rayon
  • Teal with Black Trim - 96% Polyester, 4% Spandex
  • Dark Grey (see though in parts and small) - 48% Polyester, 48% Rayon, 4% Spandex
  • Green & Black Floral - 48% Cotton, 48% Modal, 4% Spandex

When it comes to styling your Classic T you can pretty much wear it normal, tuck it in or tie a knot in the side. In order to make the Classic T more versatile you will have to purchase a bigger size. Going up one size will make it a little longer. Go up two sizes allows you to make a bigger knot. Go up three or four sizes to wear your Classic T as a dress or off the shoulder top. You can also reverse your larger Classic T to create a low cut back. By reversing the Classic T, it allows for extra material in the front, making a cute maternity top for all you expectant mothers. I do not currently have a bigger size Classic T so you will have to google "LulaRoe backwards Classic T" in hopes of seeing what it looks like.

Randy (Baseball T)

The Randy is a unisex, quarter sleeve shirt that resembles a Baseball T. Most Randy's have contrasting patterns on the sleeves but I've seen a few solids with solid sleeves or solids with two contrasting strips on the sleeves. I've even seen a few with lace sleeves that I'm assuming are LulaRoe unicorns. The sizes range from XXS(00-0) to 3XL(24-26). The Randy retails for $35 plus state taxes and shipping. Visit LulaRoe's website, lularoe.com/randy, to see what they say about Randy!

The Randy has the same size charts as the Classic T and like the Classic T, I fall in-between sizes;  Small(6-8) and Medium(10-12). A lot of people say Randy runs true to size but I personally think it runs small so I would recommend going up a size unless you like fitted shirts. I am wearing a Medium Randy in the pictures below and have considered getting a Large Randy to pair with leggings  since the Medium isn't as long as I had hoped.

I was super excited to try the Randy because I love Baseball T's but to be honest I was disappointed. Maybe my standards were set to high but Randy is now probably my least favorite LulaRoe top. The picture below shows two different material Randy tops. I'm sure there are other material Randy tops out there but these are the only two I have tried. The grey and purple top has a solid base and pattern sleeves as most Randys do. I was disappointed in this Randy because the material is super thin and it feels cheaply made. The blue and grey Randy is a nicer, thicker material. Its hard to tell by the pictures but the blue one is longer and looser than the purple and grey Randy. If you purchase a Randy I recommend purchasing one in the thicker material.

LulaRoe Randy, LulaRoe, Randy, Randy T, Randy Tee, LulaRoe Randy material, difference in LulaRoe top material, LulaRoe different materials, LulaRoe material review
If your consultant or you aren't sure about the thickness, the material on the tags read:

  • Grey and Purple (thinner) - 50% Polyester, 33% Cotton, 12% Rayon
  • Blue and Grey (thicker) - 48% Cotton, 48% Polyester, 4% Spandex

The Randy is considered to be a unisex top because both men and women can wear it. Several of the patterns are more feminine but there are several solids and darker colors out there that men can wear. LulaRoe also makes a kid's style called Sloan that is basically a kid's Randy. The Sloan size 14(14-16) can fit petite women as well as kids and is cheaper because it is a kids style.

Hopefully this blog helped you get a better understanding of what tops LulaRoe has, how they fit and different ways to wear your tops. As you can tell LulaRoe tops all run different. They come in different materials, styles, sizes, and colors - patterns and solids. LulaRoe clothing is considered unique because they only produce about 2,500 items in a specific print so if you happen to come across a pattern you like I recommend buying it because once it is gone, it may be gone forever. LulaRoe is designed to fit several different body types and all items fit people differently depending on their build and the size of the item. LulaRoe is also designed so that you can fit in several different sizes to give off different looks so if you happen to come across a pattern you love but it isn't your size you may be able to still make it work. You can hack several of LulaRoe tops by adding belts, tucking them in and knotting them; I've even seen people knot the sleeves if the top is to big. Several of the LulaRoe tops make great maternity tops as well because they are loose and comfortable and after you have that little bundle of joy, they will do a great job hiding that postpartum baby belly.

I personally think LulaRoe's tops are overpriced, especially the men's tops as I have bought similar shirts to the Classic T and Randy for under $10 and similar shirts to the Mark and Patrick for under $15 at other stores. I also do not like that the tops are made all over the world and come in all different materials making some appear thinner and cheaper than other tops of the same style. It makes it hard to shop when you can't see, feel, and try the product on especially when they aren't all made the same.

After looking at several of the tags, I noticed the shirts made with a higher percentage of Rayon were thinner than the Polyester/Cotton blends. I also noticed that tops made with higher percentages of Modal or Polyester tended to be softer and closer to legging material so if you are afraid of purchasing a thinner top I recommend asking your consultant what the top is made of. Hopefully your consultant will be more than happy to help with any questions you have regarding the LulaRoe items they carry.

The benefit of LulaRoe tops are that they are comfortable and some of them are super cute while others, not so much. Another benefit of LulaRoe tops are that most of them, especially the Irma and Perfect T, are very versatile and can be worn several different ways so people may think you have more clothes than you really do.

There are pros and cons to everything so you have to make the final decision on if you want to spend $35 and try a LulaRoe top. If you are still unsure, then visit a "pop up" boutique in your area and try on all the different styles to figure out what size and style you prefer for your body type, then go online and join a bunch of consultant's groups and enter contest in hopes of winning LulaRoe or Lulacash that way if you end up not liking the products, you aren't out as much money, if any. I also recommend looking for Muli-consultant sales or consultants that have Bargain Bins, offer free shipping or are in a no tax states to help save a few bucks (It is rumored that LulaRoe is changing taxes to match the shoppers state tax no matter what state you purchase from).

Overall I would recommend adding two or three LulaRoe tops to your wardrobe if you can afford them. I would recommend adding a Perfect T or Irma because they are more versatile than the Classic T and Randy. Plus several stores carry tops similar to the Classic T and Randy. If I end up getting any different sizes I will update my blog to help show you the difference in sizes and possibly a few more ways to wear that style in that size. If you are looking for more information on LulaRoe, what other items they carry and how to style them you can check out my LulaRoe related blogs below or you can visit LulaRoe's website, lularoe.com, to find out more information about the company!

Everybody I know that has tried LulaRoe has an opinion on it so feel free to share your's below, all I ask is that you keep it clean!
