My husband and I just celebrated our four year wedding anniversary and went on our traditional All about D Date. Four years traditional gift idea is Fruit so I decided to create a Fake Fruit Scavenger Hunt for my husband and I to go on. I designed the game and all of the fruit pictured along with a book full of fruit sayings and a Multiple Choice Date pictured below. It all ties together, I promise.
The scavenger hunt is fun and easy to do... for the most part. You can design your own scavenger hunt or you can download my FREE PRINTABLE HERE.
The rules are simple. Pick a store and go on a fruit hunt.
Find a different fruit related item for the task. Take a picture for proof. Use the entire store, if you stay in the fruit aisle you lose. You may work together or compete - set a timer, most points wins.
There are 16 tasks, 4 for every year of marriage and a bonus task if you decide to work together.
I also set up a point system: +1 point for each task, +2 points if the item as the word "Fruit" in it, +5 points for the most rotted fruit.
All the task vary from finding a fruit you can wear to finding something that smells like fruit or something fruit related in different departments.
The game takes forty-five minutes to an hour to complete. The time varies depending on how fast you find the task, laughing, taking selfies and walking around the entire store (we chose a super Walmart). If you want to challenge yourself, I would set a timer to thirty minutes and go!
I had more fun on the Fake Fruit Scavenger Hunt then I thought we would. Finding some of the items was harder than I thought it would be and some of the items found make for a good laugh! It was hard to find something fruit related in the pet department and the fabric department but we succeeded and completed all the tasks. There was a ton of fruit related clothing and accessories out because it is spring, almost summer, so it was a great time to play the game. I would imaging it would be ten times harder in the winter time.
We found some fruit hand soaps with saying similar to the Fruit Saying Book (Coming Soon) I made while on the scavenger hunt. Arn't they adorable?!
My husband and I decided to play the game together since we were celebrating our anniversary together and wanted to be together. We decided to both try to find something related to the task and keep track of our points separately. My husband of course tried to find items that all had the word "fruit" in them and I tried the find the items first. My husband ended up winning the scavenger hunt by six points because he won the bonus round and found very disgusting grapefruit covered in mold... eww.
The Fake Fruit Scavenger Hunt is a great bonding experience for both you and your spouse if you play it together. It is also a unique game that I created! The scavenger hunt doesn't have to be limited to just you and your spouse for your fourth anniversary. The scavenger hunt can be played by anyone for any occasion. I hope you enjoy this game and don't forget to check out the FREE PRINTABLE SCAVENGER HUNT. Comment below and let me know what you think and who won!
