Decorative Beer Box Gifts: Blue Moon

My second post ever on Daniz Designz Bee-ing Mommy was Decorative Beer Box Gifts for Him. This post has really taken off the last few weeks with Valentine's Day approaching and is currently my second highest viewed blog. Decorative Beer Boxes is a Valentine's tradition I have started with my husband. This will be the fourth year I have made a Decorative Beer Box for my husband, the fifth year giving him beer as part of his gift and I will continue to make him a Decorative Beer Box for years to come. He knows it and is fine with it because he loves beer and has no idea what brand or saying I will give him next. 

I recently brainstormed sayings and came up with over ten sayings to go with over ten different beers so you can look forward my future Valentine's Day Decorative Beer Boxes but for now I'm keeping them a secret so I won't ruin future gifts. 

For Valentine's 2016 I asked my husband if there were any specific beers he wanted or wanted to try. He came up with a list so I chose a beer off his list and came up with a saying. They didn't have what I was originally thinking but it all worked out. This year he will be getting Blue Moon: First Peach Ale. It's an early season release and there were only two left so I lucked out! I explained in my previous blog,  Decorative Beer Box Gifts for Him, how I made the Decorative Beer Boxes but this time I'm going to go ahead and do a tutorial with pictures.

Supplies:

• 6-pack of beer
• Colorful Sharpies
• Construction Paper
• White Computer Paper
• Scissors
• Glue Stick *not pictured
• Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Stick

How To:

1.  First you need to come up with a saying to go with your beer. You can come up with a saying then buy your beer or buy a beer and try to come up with a saying. I've constructed a list of several sayings you can use to decorate a Blue Moon beer box. Feel free to use one of these sayings or come up with your own.

Blue Moon sayings:

• "I love you to the MOON and back." *decorative beer box picture is below
• "I love you to the MOON and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever."
• "You are my sun, my MOON, and all my stars." - E.E. Cummings
• "I'd orbit the MOON for you."
• "Every time I look at the MOON, all I see is you!"
• "I'm over the MOON for you." or "I'm over the MOON for you, Valentine."
• "You're my MOON, my light, and my whole world."
• "Live by the sun, love by the MOON."

• "Once in a BLUE MOON you find a ___ (dad, father, husband) as awesome as you!"
• "Once in a BLUE MOON someone comes into your life you will never forget"
• "Once in a BLUE MOON someone wonderful comes along."
• "Once in a BLUE MOON someone will take your breathe away."

• "Roses are Red, Violets are BLUE, aren't you glad I love you!"
• "Roses are Red, Violets are BLUE, I'll never love someone the way I love you."
• "Roses are Red, Violets are BLUE, love never crossed my mind until I met you."
• "Roses are Red, Violets are BLUE, I found the love of my life, that's you!"
• "Roses are Red, Violets are BLUE, the best part of my life is you!"
• "I'd be BLUE without you as my Valentine."

2. Using the sharpies, write your saying on the white computer paper and cut it out. Mount it onto construction paper using a glue stick and cut the words out.

3. Create any other decoration you may want. In this case I made a rocket ship and a blue moon. In the past I made fruit to match the saying/beer. You can decorate you beer with hearts, just the saying or any thing you want.

4. Figure out where you want to place everything and hot glue it to the beer box. It is easier to hot glue to pieces if the beer is out of the box and the box is laying flat.

5. Put the beer back in the box and give it to your significant other on Valentine's Day!

There are a ton of different ways you can decorate your beer box and I listed several other sayings you could use above. A Decorative Beer Box is a great gift for your husband, your boyfriend or your dad. If your wife or girlfriend is a beer drinker I'm sure she would love it to. I hope your significant other loves this gift as much as I know mine will!
