I've personally never been huge on Kimonos aka a formal robe and the only Kimonos I own are more like cover ups so I decided to give the Shinesty Kimono a try.
The Kimonos come in two sizes, S/M and L/XL. I asked for a S/M and unfortunately was shipped a L/XL so I feel like the Kimono swallows me but it still gets it's job done.
My first impression of the Kimono was the bold pattern. I chose the Buffalo Plaid Kimono because I loved the pattern and it is gender neutral, like most of their patterns, so my husband can wear it if he ever chooses to.
The buffalo plaid is definitely bold and still stands out when paired with a buffalo plaid blanket I already had. It will make for some nice camouflage when playing hide & seek with the kids.
My second impression was the material. I loved the thick, silky feel of the Kimono. It is made from 97% Polyester & 3% Spandex. The Kimono appears to be made very well. It definitely does not feel cheap which is awesome since it is priced around $69. At that price it better be made good!
There are several ways you can tie your Kimono - on the side, center, or even in the back. I had to tie mine tight because of the size and material, it liked to come undone.
You can also leave your Kimono open, tied in the back and pair it with jeans or shorts for a more casual look.
Depending on the size and pattern you choose, you may even be able to get your husband to wear it if you ask nicely or you could just buy a matching set and be one of those cute matching couples.
