Since it is almost May and graduation is just around the corner I wanted to share a graduation gift I made for my siblings. Both my brother and sister graduated in May 2017, my brother with his Associated Degree and my sister from High School. I wanted to get them something cute and simple so I came up with these cute candy saying water bottles. These candy saying water bottles are easy to make, affordable and they make a great gift for any graduate.
What you will need:
- A Water Bottle - I bought mine at Kroger for around $5. They have a clip so they can easily clip onto the future college student's back pack and an ice tube in the center
- Candy
- Smarties
- Gummy Worms
- Dum Dum lolli-pops
- 100 Grand bars
- Lifesaver Mints
- Starburst
- Hershey Hugs & Kisses
- Saying - printed out or written
- Ribbon
- Hole Puncher
How To:
Basically you fill the water bottle with the candy and attach a cute saying to the the water bottle with some ribbon.
You can use any candy you want and any saying you want.
I bought some candy such as the gummy worms and 100 grand bars then used candy I already had at home. I then thought of different sayings that could go with the candy and put it all together to make a cute little story. This is what I came up with:
"Congratulations Smartie pants, you did it! You decided to be a book Worm instead of a Dum Dum. Hopefully this 100 Grand will be a Lifesaver and help you reach for the Stars! Don't Ice us out once you're in the real world. Hugs and Kisses!"
Incase you aren't sure what candy matches what:
- Smarties - Smartie pants
- Gummy Worms - Book Worm
- Dum Dum lolli-pops - Dum Dum
- 100 Grand bars - 100 Grand
- Lifesaver Mints - Lifesaver
- Starburst - Reach for the Stars
- Water Bottle - Don't Ice use Out
- Hershey Hugs & Kisses - Hugs and Kisses
Overall I think the water bottles turned out pretty cute. Like I said before, they are easy to make and affordable. Plus I think the fact that the water bottles can clip onto your back pack is awesome. My siblings seemed to like their gifts!
My gift ended up going great with part of the snack table my mom set up for my sister's graduation party. We even used some of the same candies. Isn't it cute?!
Congratulations to my brother and sister on Graduation!!!
